Cartera Commerce’s loyalty solutions serve 4 of the top 10 card issuers, 6 of the top 7 airlines and over 900 retailers is looking for a B2B savvy product leader.  The ideal candidate brings a mix of ecommerce acumen and product leadership.  Reporting to the CTO, this is an amazing opportunity to drive the roadmap for our B2B2C loyalty platform that has handsomely rewarded shoppers with over 18 Billion airline miles, program specific reward points and cash.

Mission

The Head of Product is responsible for establishing the company’s business-to-business product vision and leading the related product management efforts to drive future growth in the core business. The product vision should allow Cartera’s platform to achieve its future growth by integrating the B2B requirements of the customers and merchant partners with end user requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Leader of business-to-business-to-consumer platform product management
  •  Be the voice of both our clients, merchant partners and the users of our white label reward offerings
  •  Define and drive initiatives to deliver additional revenue from our reward programs by driving more shopping and creating opportunities for paid placement.
  •  Provide wider competitive business context to the organization.
  •  Elicit stakeholder requirements documenting, prioritizing and aligning work
  •  Coordinate across business and operational departments to ensure successful rollout of new initiatives and platform tools
  •  Support sales in pre-sale client engagements
  •  Drive improvements in e-commerce search offerings
  •  Develop strategy for API / PaaS offering
  •  Direct people management of the core product management staff
  •  Drive the optimal usage of product and experience analytics and coordinate A/B testing with Marketing Organization

 

Required Skills and Experience:

  •  5+ years product management with experience in e-commerce or loyalty product management (B2B or B2C)
  •  Ability to craft and evangelize product strategy and vision
  •  Shipped product using LEAN Startup principles
  •  Experience designing product search and price comparison features
  •  Track record of launching innovative products to market
  •  Experience with user testing and passion for customer understanding
  •  Experience managing direct staff and functional teams
  •  Experience with partnering with Marketing Orgs and Marketing services to drive user acquisition and retention leveraging product data and analytics

Senior Engineer (Java Back Office)

This software development position requires versatility, flexibility, and attention to detail. It includes the design, development, and support of both new and existing platform features, as well as working closely with the Product Management, QA, and Operations teams to ensure delivery of quality software.

DUTIES:

The Senior Software Engineer will perform the following duties:

  •  Design, document, and write code to technical specifications to implement high performance data processing systems, data warehouse analytics and feed processing.
  •  Work closely with Product Managers to define and refine the partner product requirements.
  •  Develop supporting functional and unit tests, and collaborate with QA and Operations teams to ensure proper test coverage and production monitoring/support activities.
  •  Responsible for fixing bugs and writing feature enhancements.

REQUIREMENTS:

  •  7+ years of relevant experience in the design, development, documentation, and deployment of high performance, high availability applications using Java, Mule ESB, Spring and web services.
  •  4+ years of experience designing applications and schemas utilizing relational databases such as MySQL.
  •  Familiar with source code control management systems, including branching and merging of code.
  •  Strong Linux experience.
  •  Solid comprehension of hardware, software, database technologies and networking solutions.
  •  Strong understanding of and experience with all stages of software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, design, development, integration, verification, deployment, and sustainment.
  •  Excellent interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal skills.
  •  Strong attention to detail, ability to multi-task, prioritize, and problem solve.
  •  Solid organizational and analytical skills.
  •  Minimum of BS/MS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent experience.

DESIRABLE SKILLS:

  •  Experience in the SaaS applications space.
  •  Experience using Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
  •  Experience with Java EE, Hibernate and JPA technologies.
  •  Experience with Maven and Ant build processes.
  •  Experience with continuous integration tools (e.g. Jenkins).
  •  Experience with e-commerce applications, ad networks, shopping search or targeting, analytics/reporting/Data Warehouse applications, online affiliate marketing, SEO/SEM, and email marketing.
  •  Experience with Atlassian tool suite (JIRA, FishEye, Confluence) is a plus.

Senior System Administrator

A System Administrator at Cartera works to support a large, complex, high-availability site consisting of hundreds of servers, multiple operating systems and dozens of services. Day-to-day duties will cover all aspects of web, database, and application server life-cycles; from installing new hardware, software and operating systems, support of existing servers and platforms, effecting bug and security patching, performance monitoring and tuning, break/fix troubleshooting, working with vendors on locally installed and cloud systems, working with hosting vendors for co-managed and co-location hosting services, to retirement or upgrade of older hardware and platforms. Frequent interaction with end users and other non-technical staff is the norm, as is participation in long-term projects with vendors, and other internal groups.

Minimum Requirements:

  •  Senior level System Administration experience
  •  Proven technical leadership and leadership of org technical direction
  •  8+ years of production-level Linux System Administration experience (Red Hat preferred)
  •  Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  •  Experience with DevOps and continuous integration technologies (Chef and Puppet preferred)
  •  Experience with scripting and debugging in languages such as sh, bash, perl, php, ruby
  •  Comfort with SQL in relational databases (MySQL preferred)
  •  Experience in basic networking including routing, subnets, and firewalls
  •  Experience in storage architectures and technologies (SAN, DAS, NAS, Fiber Channel, Volume Management)
  •  Experience with apache, DNS, NFS, monitoring tools, and ticket tracking systems
  •  Experience with virtual and physical servers
  •  Experience with ElasticSearch and SOLR
  •  Must be available to work the occasional weekend and handle 24/7 pager-based oncall duties (a personal wireless access point is provided)
  •  Must be available to work the occasional pre-scheduled early morning release window
  •  Must be reliable.  The Systems Administration team is responsible for real-time, customer facing production systems.
  •  Ability to establish and maintain harmonious working relationships with co-workers, staff, and external contacts, and to work effectively in a professional team environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  •  Have strong problem solving, analytical and comprehensive skills.
  •  Understanding of backup system concepts
  •  Understanding of Big Data (Cassandra preferred)
  •  The ability to write technical documentation to be referenced by technical peers in a knowledge base.
  •  The ability to work in a team environment and work effectively with people with diverse technical skills.
  •  The ability to learn, grasp and retain a variety of procedures and information and be able to effectively apply this knowledge on a daily basis.
  •  Additional relevant training courses (from colleges, universities, conferences or corporate) are a plus
  •  Must be focused, energetic and reliable with high integrity.
  •  Communicate effectively in both written and oral form.
  •  Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, systems engineering, or a related field.
